Dr. Phillip Brown
Education
Dr. Brown is a native of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. He graduated from John Carroll University and the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science in both Chemistry and Physics. After graduating, he attended Kent State University, where he obtained his podiatric medical degree. Subsequently, he completed a three-year surgical residency at Case Western Reserve in Youngstown, Ohio, under Dr. Larry Didomenico, with an emphasis on wound care, adult complex forefoot, hindfoot, ankle reconstruction, sports-related pathology, and arthroscopy.
Dr. Brown has contributed to advancing foot and ankle surgery through numerous publications and presentations, as well as nationally attended lectures, courses, and conferences. Dr. Brown continued his education by completing several advanced courses in internal fixation, foot and ankle arthroscopy, and a mini fellowship in dermatology at Bako Laboratory in Alpharetta, Georgia.
Dr. Brown has comprehensive training in the non-operative and operative management of conditions affecting the foot and ankle. He has advanced surgical training in the treatment of foot and ankle deformities, primary and revision total ankle joint replacement (TAR), complex deformity reconstruction of the forefoot and hindfoot, ankle arthroscopy, as well as sports medicine.
Dr. Brown and his wife, Cindy, reside in the South Hills of Pittsburgh. Beyond patient care responsibilities, he enjoys spending time with his family, including their dog, Piper. Dr. Brown participates in various activities, including bagpipe and weightlifting. He is an avid poker player and a loyal Pittsburgh sports fan who especially enjoys attending University of Pittsburgh football games and wrestling matches. Dr. Brown treats all disorders of the foot and ankle and is dedicated to improving the quality of patients’ outcomes.
